deepC Store presents at LNGgc 2021 “Step Towards a Carbon Neutral LNG Value Chain”
deepC Store Limited (deepC Store) Managing Director Daein Cha presented on Tuesday 12 October 2021 at the LNGgc 2021 (Virtual) “Step Towards a Carbon Neutral LNG Value Chain” Conference on the topic of “Utilising LNG project development expertise for offshore CCS development.”
Daein presented that deepC Store realises step changes in value creation by enabling commercial scale Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects and by bringing:
Established partnerships with Japanese gas & electricity utility companies and global tier one EPC, lease & operate companies; and
Extensive major capital project management, business development, and procurement / trading expertise in the energy and oil & gas resource sectors.
Daein further outlined that the key entry barriers and solutions for enabling CCS projects, which are similar to those for enabling LNG project development:
Access to Balance Sheet – While large scale capital projects have traditionally been underpinned by sound balance sheets of international and national oil and gas companies, we can also have other players such as LNG buyers / CO2 suppliers, infrastructure owner / operators, and financiers for underpinning projects.
Access to CO2 Suppliers & Investors – Noting that low cost projects are a given, Daein emphasised the need for project proponents to emphasise differentiators that would provide strategic rationale for credible CO2 suppliers & investors to commit as foundation suppliers and investors
Access to Tenure – Daein invited project proponents to opportunistically pursue and persist for obtaining favourable CO2 injection sites.
